Legal Investing Offshore: What Your Broker Won't Tell You.
Why won't he/she tell you about investing offshore? Because, in the U.S.A., a) he/she could go to jail if you are not an accredited investor and b) some global investing isn't available Go to jail? Really? Yes. US laws prohibit a licensed financial planner, broker or financial advisor from telling anyone in the United states other than accredited investors about certain high yield onshore or investing offshore opportunities In theory, this is for your own good. What is an accredited investor?
Someone who can write a check for $1,000,000 and have it not bounce or someone who can prove that he/she has earned $200,000 within each of the last 2 years and will continue to do so. The rest of us are locked out from investing offshore. What about investments not being available in the U.S.?

Quicker and cheaper means higher returns for you. Why the hoops? to protect Wall Street.
So IPOs or pre-IPOs look to the foreign stock exchanges to offer their products and services, sometimes even thought their main business is located in the U.S. But there are ways around all this with offshore corporations and bank accounts, which can invest anywhere in the world.
